I am a Certified Training Partner with Karen Pryor Academy (KPA CTP - 2015).
I have been teaching classes, private lessons, educational seminars and training interns since 2015. My specialty has been raising puppies from 8 weeks to 18 months, including specific skills such as recall, leash walking, sport and herding foundations and basic manners.

My teaching methods are open minded, supportive and fair. I lean heavily on reward based methods while also seeing where a balance of negative reinforcement can be kinder for the human and dog. I strive to explain things in a way the dog and the human can understand, with the goal for dog owners to ultimately develop the skills to continue on independently.

I personally believe it is important to find methods that the humans feel comfortable with and are able to succeed at, and help the dog to learn those methods. The dog world could do with less "dogma" and judgment, and more support for personalization of methods.

I started working with animals in 1999, beginning with horses and farm animals, and have been forever fascinated by animal behaviour and communication.

I took my first dog class in 2007, and have been hooked ever since. I have taken hundreds of classes and seminars, in multiple disciplines, from trainers, behavioural psychologists and coaches around the world. I currently live with two young border collies and an Australian Shepherd.
My dogs and I compete in herding in feild and arena, and enjoy training for scent work, agility and tricks.
